Becoming a member of AAHN provides you with a spectrum of opportunities to enrich your professional life and contribute to the field of nursing history. Members receive a discounted rate for the annual meeting. Membership also includes the annual journal, The Nursing History Review (also available online). At the annual meeting, members have the opportunity to meet and discuss historical interests with other nursing history researchers.
Membership includes full voting privileges, all newsletters, and notices, the right to hold office and/or serve on committees, and inclusion in our searchable online Membership Directory.
Regular Member – Individuals interested in the purposes and work of the association. – Dues $200.00 (If you would like to donate $100 to AAHN in addition to the regular membership fee, you will be listed as a Supporting Member.)
Student Member – Full-time students with an interest in the purposes and work of the association. – Dues $90.00 (Add an additional student to your membership for only $10 more!)
Retired Members – Individuals who have been members of the Association and have retired from professional employment. This rate applies to both US retired members and International retired members. – Dues $120.00
Agency Member – Agencies, organizations, or corporations, with an interest in the purposes and work of the association. – Dues $200.00
International Member - For those who live outside of the United States. Dues $150.00
Institutional Member – History centers, schools and departments of nursing, or any agency, organization, or corporation with an interest in joining AAHN. Dues $600.00
Institutional Membership includes:
- Four representatives will receive full regular member benefits – save $200 compared to purchasing four separate individual memberships (cost of $600 vs. $800).
- Discounted exhibitor space – History Centers or others who choose to become Institutional Members may choose to exhibit at the conference. Institutional Members will receive a 25% discount off the published rates for exhibit space.
- Recognition on the AAHN website – Institutional members will be listed on the AAHN home page under a banner heading for the membership category. They will have the option of providing a logo that can be linked to their website in exchange for a reverse link to the AAHN website.
Subscribe to the Nursing History Review (NHR) - The Nursing History Review (NHR) is the premier journal dedicated to the history of nursing and healthcare. Non-members interested in subscribing can find more information here.
For members of AAHN, a subscription to the NHR is included as part of your membership benefits.
