Officers are expected to attend the two Board Meetings each year. 

For specific responsibilities please see Article VI- Board of Directors and/or Article VII- Standing Committees of the Bylaws.

Eligibility Requirements as stated in the Bylaws.

Individual members who have been a member in good standing for a minimum of two (2) years shall be eligible to hold office and serve on the Board. The officer positions of president, first vice-president, second vice-president, secretary, and treasurer require prior AAHN Board experience. Service on a committee, sub-committee, and/or task force of the AAHN is preferred prior to serving on the Board. The position of Director of Awards and Director of Research Review have additional eligibility requirements noted in Article VII – Standing Committees, Sections 3. B. and 7. B. 

The AAHN Board of Directors consists of five (5) officers and eight (8) directors. Officers/ Directors may serve in the same office for (2) consecutive terms (4 years). Therefore, if you are currently in your first term in one of the open positions, please consider running for a second term!

Service on a committee, sub-committee, or taskforce of the AAHN is preferred prior to serving as a member on the AAHN Board of Directors, and the open officer positions of First Vice President/Chair of Strategic Planning Committee and Secretary require previous AAHN Board experience. If you have not yet served on the AAHN Board or a committee, please consider running for one of the positions on the Nominating Committee!
